It is my personal view that many Americans view God as their personal Genie. Aladdin sir, what will your pleasure be? Let me take your order jot it down. You ain’t never had a friend like me!” While this is a funny, and very catchy song. (Four if you saw the movie.) Genie comes out singing, and it is probably the most famous scene in the movie. Aladdin finds this magic lamp, and poof out comes the Genie to make all his wishes come true, or at least three of them. You had to be a family of royalty to marry the princess.
The premise of the movie is that Aladdin is in love with the Sultan’s daughter, but he is a street kid. I personally think it was one of His best roles. It was one of my favorite movies because I loved Robin Williams playing the Genie.
One of my favorite movies growing up was Aladdin. God is not now, nor has He ever been a Genie in the bottle. And He took him and healed him, and let him go. And Jesus, answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?” But they kept silent.
